Given that people are being idiots, beaches not being useable may send them inside into bars and eating places, people closely spaced in places, most with AC blasting. Sort of like out of the frying pan and into the fire as far as SARS-COV-2 spread is concerned.

the east coast. Its top finally curves inland a bit to hit our area, and we're getting some much-needed rain right now. Hoping for a lot more, but as it is we can practically hear the wilderness around us sighing and turning its billion faces up with relief.

Florida's had some wildfires, hurricane season is expected to be just what we really don't need right now, and the prediction is that our national disaster relief responses, including state, are going to be a fraction of normal due to pandemic and government disruption.

The volunteer turnout that is so important may be only half or so of normal, in good part because, it turns out, disaster volunteers are typically older. Disasters of course will only worsen spread and force at-risk individuals to focus on protecting themselves and their own.

But in the meantime, cool, lovely, life-giving rain. Love it!
