when Karens take a walk with their dogs off leash in the famous Bramble in NY's Central Park

Oh, when Karens take a walk with their dogs off leash in the famous Bramble in NY’s Central Park, where it is clearly posted on signs that dogs MUST be leashed at all times, and someone like my brother (an avid birder) politely asks her to put her dog on the leash.

Karen called the police cause someone bird watching while a black man politely asked her to follow the rules. That shit might get him killed. Literally. What is wrong with these racist fuckers?!?!

Oh! Wait!

it here and no one complained. I think in these cases where there is overt racism it is good to call people out. If they are made responsible for their actions they may change them. Otherwise ...nada.

btw the school where the one woman worked tweeted out that she was no longer an employee there. I don't know when she lost her job but they wanted people to know she didn't work there.

IDK ???

Do you know how many times the wrong person gets named? Its shocking really. Just because someone is named in a Twitter thread does not mean it is correct. People have been harmed over such mistakes.

She was dragging the dog around by the collar, with the front feet off the ground, strangling it! When it yelped, she finally let go, but honestly, that was awful.

Her behavior all around was just unacceptable.

What a racist b**ch! What is wrong with her? I can't believe this is NYC!

Just an FYI, it's the Ramble, instead of the Bramble (I realize that is the Twitter poster's mistake, not yours). Sorry, don't mean to be so picky, but just wanted to make sure people knew what area the poster was talking about.

It's a beautiful area of the park. Very wild and natural, even though it's pretty much man-made.

I can't stand dog abuse, either, but falsely accusing a black man of assault is much more upsetting to me than the horrible way she treated her dog - and I love dogs almost more than I like people.

Her treatment of the dog did turn my stomach ...

But hearing her hysterical voice yell into the phone "An African American man is threatening me. Get the police here right away!" made me want to throw up. How many black men knew their lives were over as soon as they heard these words yelled by a white woman and knew there was absolutely nothing they could do to save themselves?

Your post really struck me. I had not thought of it in terms of putting his life in danger. I thought what she did was horrific, and criminal, but it did not occur to me that it could kill him. Terrifying.
