...So, is he rich? According to Wikipedia he is worth 3.4 Billion. His family owns Hyatt Hotels, and he doesn't have to work. I just stopped watching him give an update on the Illinois program to deal with the virus, to come up and write this.. He has an attitude of not giving up and clearly caring about people. I have heard him on the radio many times. Pritzker served as national co-chairman of Hillary Clinton's campaign , and has been part of many philanthropic organizations. As I watched him on TV, there was a sense of real fatigue in his behavior. Yes, it seems that he has been putting in lots of extra hours trying to deal with this. Pritzker is highly respected around the state and elsewhere. He is 55 years old and of course a Democrat. Much more to say, but I am worn out. Thanks for reading this.
I forgot to add this, I live in Illinois, and I voted for Pritzker and he is my governor too.

(1,665 posts)My daughter did a National History Day project that had military connections, and we just missed going to that museum before lockdown. It has a great online collection though, and serious digital archives.
Well probably head there once its safe. It would be nice to know its connected to a stand-up guy. A lot of military stuff tends to be trumphumper affiliated.

(2,315 posts)The entire state suffered under Bruce Rauner who was an arrogant tRump Mini-Me.
I've had the honor of meeting and conversing with Governor Pritzker. Yes, he is a billionaire, but he doesn't act like so many of them. An assertive leader when he needs to be, but humble and unassuming when away from the spotlight. We are very fortunate here in Illinois to have Governor Pritzker leading us.

I think it ended yesterday ? A lot got passed Working with flood damage in the state
This along with his keeping up with real info on the virus , his daily televised briefings and planning & negotiating for ppe and testing decisions , meeting with the business community and all the many local communities Id be fatigued
His family is already known for philanthropy projects in Chicago and throughout the world
According to Inside Philanthropy, there are so many Pritzkers, with so many different vehicles or foundations for their philanthropic giving, that it is difficult to keep track. / WIKI -Pritzker family
Im very happy with my vote 🙂

(23,975 posts)...think he is very impressive. He speaks in long, complex sentences, has an excellent vocabulary, and mastery of information.
So refreshing.
As stated above, I, too, am happy with my vote.

(1,151 posts)but I have been saying far and wide that I am super impressed by the job he's doing despite so much backlash from MAGAs and their leader. I have one friend who knows him personally and says he's really a nice guy who cares about people. And my neighbor told me his kids went to grade school with her kids and he walked them there almost every day, no nanny in sight, always friendly and humble.

(65,010 posts)Just an add, Stuart.
Yes, he was born wealthy. Yes, his parents gave him & his brother seed money.
In 30 years, that net worth represents a nearly 26 fold increase. In 30 years.
That's 11.5% annually as opposed to someone I can think of who increased what they got by 10 fold, per rumor, but really 3 fold in 25 years.
One is a caring, philanthropic BUSINESSMAN, and the other is Donnie-boy!
