I actually saw one older white woman on TV say "There never was racism until Obama got elected."

People who I never dreamed were racist were..some very very racist. Who would not even watch him and avoided hearing him speak.

They didn't just hate him because he was black; they hated him because he de-bunked every lie, every myth, every slur and slander against black men that they'd ever been told, or told themselves and chose to believe.

He earned everything he has. He worked hard, studied hard, achieved some extraordinary things without even a hint of Affirmative Action. He earned a fortune through the publication of some excellent books about politics and about the American Experience told through his eyes, books that he wrote himself, without a ghost writer.

Throughout his life, he has exemplified the dignity, the grace, and the class that all Americans are capable of, if only they exert a little effort to be so.

He and his lovely, intelligent, All-American family are everything his haters wish they were, but thought they would have handed to them on a silver platter simply for having been born white. They resent the success he earned, and they thought they should have been given.

He's everything they aren't, and could never be.

Missouri has many of the haters. People would go berserk at the mention of his name and lose it all together is someone praised him. People I cared for and people I thought were otherwise good people until I saw their rage.
