That police officer that killed Floyd should be walked out to the crowd and left as a sacrifice.

People are having trouble surviving. They could sell the stuff they take to pay rent.

People loot because they have no money and the damn republicans don't care enough to help.

Cities are trying to attract business to their city to combats business deserts. I hope this doesn’t stop progress. Although your overall premise is correct. I just hope it doesn’t cause a worse citation in the long run. Will autozone and target rebuild or move?

You think this helps in any way? How about setting fires? Is that helping people’s financial situation? Please elaborate. And have they now ensured the employees at those stores have no jobs? Unreal.

I see a D next to his name. Simi Valley (where the cops in LA were tried and aquitted) is a big GOP area. I wonder if that makes a difference in the local govt's reaction. I can't believe that was almost 30 years ago.

the next closest store was also looted though not burned,

He sent me a video from one of his co-workers. The co-worker said the looters are in organized groups who plan which place to go next. They know the police are tied down so they are free to go wherever they want to strip stores. Part of the video showed looters on the street selling what they took to passing motorists.

I don't expect any of the stores to reopen soon.

Rioting, burning, and looting.

These are not "protestors."

They are rioters and thugs.

Now is the time, EVRRYONE is pissed about this, across the entire political spectrum, trust me I have a very diverse set of friends and co workers, and none of them are behind the police on this one... Sadly tonight's criminal activities will lessen that outrage and merely fit a narrative they are more comfortable with.

Several "arsonists" were later seen walking into the precinct.

I am not there, so I cant verify in this case, but It would not be inconsistent with overall police tactics i've observed in my area and in video from other protests in a variety of cities, which often include sending undercovers in to agitate and make the crowd look bad in the news, and almost always revolve around starting violence to try and draw a protest response that they can use to escalate use of force.

To see video footage of Trump supporters with Guns out on the street, saying they're
going to stop looters.

Its utter BS, they just want an excuse to shoot a black man.

I also see how this escalated to this point. Which in no way makes this ok, but I understand the factors and influences that lead to terrible, craptastic moments like this.

And often there is an element of truth in such descriptions. If you have ever been in mob that was agitated about some injustice, you know how contagious it can be. Ordinary people, normal citizens, you and me - we get swept up and do things that would be unlikely under other circumstances: shouting, shoving, throwing rocks, smashing windows, and, yes, even looting.

It usually takes an incident to get a riot started, such as an accident or the police attacking or killing an innocent bystander. But once it has begun, the raging mob has a life of its own. Deep-seated resentments, repetitive frustrations and long standing disappointments galvanize people into action. And the mob provides cover, an anonymity that makes it easier to overcome one's usual reticence or moral scruples. One is immersed, engulfed. And it can become an exuberant experience, a joyful release for long suppressed emotions. It can also become manic, driven, a means of restlessly seeking new outlets. Leadership emerges spontaneously and changes rapidly.

It offers a kind of intense belonging, not dissimilar to what spectators feel at a sports event or fans at a rock concert. But because it isn't focused on a game or performance, it easily gets out of hand. Freud described such "mass psychology" in 1924, in the tumultuous aftermath of World War One. Others have studied it since as a recurrent form of group behavior.
