(6,974 posts)IF it's the footage I saw on Lawrence's show, he was NOT resisting arrest as far as I could tell. His beautiful sister Bridgett spoke so passionately and strong about who her brother was, and wondered out aloud "WHY did they murder my brother? He wasn't the kind of person who'd not follow the rules," or a sentiment of that nature.
That bastard policeman with his knee on Floyd's neck and his accomplice police buddies who all stood around and could care less as the life was drained out of Floyd's body are murderers who deserve the worst things in life that people like them can have come to them.
Aa Bridgett said, "firing them is NOT enough. They have to pay via the courts."

(7,947 posts)He knelt on this man's neck for 7 minutes.
The victim was handcuffed. If there are not murder charges...
But then I think of Tamir Rice....

(51,591 posts)I watched her on Lawrence and got even more angry (didn't think that was possible). She is so calm and rational compared to me. I don't know how she held it together.
Congrats on your 6K post, mobeau69.
Thanks for the update. Watching.

(19,564 posts)Some people here know each other more deeply than you know them. Their lives together don't reflect on their opinions nor their outrage about topics taking place.
It's literally like a family cookout where we can be kind to each other and yet still be outraged over current events.
Ok?

(83,759 posts)Such hard times. I cry.
We need each other now more than ever. I can't hug my family in real time, yet love hugging my extended family here. It is a cyber hug, yet the words that go with it matters.

(19,564 posts)My brother was forced off furlough do to reopening, and since my husband is high risk we've been cutoff from one another entirely. He works in the tourist industry which makes it impossible to navigate a safe way to be in physical contact. My sweet little 2 year old granddaughter is also high risk which means I need 14 days of total isolation to see her per her pediatrician. That's total isolation. No going in the grocery or anything. Even masked. If I encounter anyone, I'm back to day one.
Everyday is a struggle between my work, and my family members and who I get see. It's so extremely painful.
But, here I can freely hug!
I miss contact, too. I'm a hugger, its in my DNA. My heart is with you, she! We'll survive this mess and eventually come out the other side. Watch and see. It's tough, but we've got this.

(83,759 posts)They are growing up without us. Sigh.
I am a hugger too. I miss that. We have a 9 month old that really just knows her parents. We only get to see her from a distance.
Sad you can't see your brother either. It is so hard. I truly hope we can get through this. The world has changed and so will we.
Hugs to you and yours, herding cats.

(83,759 posts)I posted OT meaning off topic. I remarked on a milestone for this poster.
I did it as an off topic post to congratulate mobeau. It was out of kindness to recognize another DUer. I had already posted on the topic of the thread.
With all that is going on in the world you come here to criticize me? Perhaps you should read DU more. In good times and bad times we come together. We are a family, dysfunctional at times however we are a family. DU has been here for me many times.
Night.

You're excellent sheshe. Kindness will always rule the day. ❤️

(384 posts)Yes, we are all proud about our many posts and bdays (Im this big now!).
I just wonder if a separate thread would not have been more appropriate given that this thread started out with a man being murdered by a cop kneeling on his neck.
Anyway, enough of me being a goose!
OT. You start with 12 oz of buckwheat flour, 6 oz of dried blueberries, and 1/2 a cup of buttermilk...

(40,211 posts)This forum has many users who have posted on this site from the day after George W. Bush was inaugurated. Its a lot like neighbors even though they havent meet in the real world. As an example, sheshe2 has been like a neighbor to me ever since coming to my defense over a bit of a scuffle over a post in the Hillary forum. sheshe2 may not remember, but I do. So please dont criticize people for being neighbors.
