Of general trouble makers you see in these events, but he does seem quite businesslike and efficient in his movements. Very professional, calm, and when the person recording him got too close, a quick, well placed shove backed them off. Could also be a private group hire/s by right wing groups, people with military training or experience? I'm thinking an Erik Prince type outfit for instance - I wouldn't put it past him to get involved in a little domestic upheaval, and he's probably not the only one out there.

St. Paul police:

Many online claim that the man seen was Pederson, offering what they claimed to be text messages from the man’s former wife confirming it was him.

But as KARE reported, St. Paul police released a statement disputing these reports. A department spokesperson said that Pederson was among the officers working to keep the city safe during protests.

“We are aware of the social media post that erroneously identifies one of our officers as the person caught on video breaking windows in Minneapolis. We want to be perfectly clear about this: The person in the video is not our officer,” said St. Paul Police spokesperson Steve Linders.

A bunch of people said they were going to continue to "tear it all down", while I agree with you there were peaceful protesters as well, there were a lot of people tearing up buildings, looting and basically ransacking the area. One youth even held up a police belt, that he had taken from the Precinct that they broke into and burnt down, as if it was a trophy.

I do not disagree with you that cops want to discredit the protest. I just want to point out that now it has moved on and there is now a second stage that we are witnessing. Whether it was started by a cop smashing windows or some other bad actor is almost moot at this point, since people have picked up the baton and are using it themselves now to tear it all down.

It's something I've seen since the 60s, so I can't say I'm particularly surprised.

What I would sttongly caution is hanging a name on it. Apparently he was outed by his ex wife, so an investigation is sorely needed to figure out if it's him or another member of law enforcement.

One giveaway is the official OR grade respirator. Those are not going to civilians or even most front line health care workers, who are lucky to get N-95 masks they have to reuse for a week.
