Update: Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson joins protesters marching for George Floyd

Videos at the link. One is of the whole march and is about 2 hours long. The last 25 or so minutes show how Sheriff Swanson turned the tide of the demonstration. He is to be commended.

FLINT TWP, Mich - What started out as a small protest grew to a large protest with people marching down Miller Road in Flint Township. The protesters were marching to bring attention to the death of George Floyd and what they say is injustice.

When protesters arrived at the Flint Twp. police station they were met by police in riot gear.

Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson talked with the protesters and ended up joining them in the march.

More people wearing masks would have made a difference.

Still, that was a peaceful protest march and he helped make it happen, so good on him.

There was a row of riot police in full gear facing the crowd of protesters. I was maybe 15 feet from the line. one of the officers in front of me lifted his hand and opened it toward us. on the palm of his glove was a pin with a peace sign. I always wondered if his fellow police knew he was flashing a indication of his sympathy for the cause.
