Philadelphia MagazineThe incident took place last Thursday, June 4th, around 1:30 p.m. Dubiel and another Woodlynne police officer showed up on a small residential block where some teens were sitting on a porch. There was reportedly a call about people smoking marijuana in the area.
According to 6 ABC, Dubiel and the other cop began questioning the teens, the teens said they didnt know anything about it, and after one of the teens said he was going to call his guardian, Dubiel just casually pulls out a can of pepper spray and sprays the teen with it. One of the teens friends was hit as well.
A bystander recorded the following video that day. Please note that this video graphically depicts the cop pepper spraying the teen:
On Wednesday, the Camden County Prosecutors Office announced that Dubiel has been charged with two counts of simple assault, simple assault being one of the most minor offenses that a person can be charged with.
Our Special Prosecutions Unit received the Internal Affairs complaint against Dubiel on June 5 and immediately began collecting all of the evidence to conduct a thorough and impartial review of the complaint, said Camden County prosecutor Jill Mayer in a statement. After careful review, it was clear Dubiels actions are not consistent with the State of New Jersey use-of-force policy.
The Woodlynne Police Department has suspended Dubiel with the intent to dismiss him. This is the ninth yes, ninth police department that Dubiel has worked at. Hes 31 years old.

Seriously, I don't know how he's been getting hired lately, but police departments and rent-a-cops can't hide the past records of criminals like this any more. This may be the last strike for him.

(65,168 posts)In ANY line of work, a person constantly changing jobs is a sign of, either:
1. Happy feet. No company wants to hire someone who may just bolt when they get bored. Especially when it's this egregious. Assuming 18 months in the academy, this is 9 jobs in 120 months. That's under 13.5 months per gig.
2. That person is regularly dismissed for bad behaviors, incompetence, or both.
Big companies hire people out of college. Academy or college? Not a huge difference.
So, if this type of job history is a problem for companies, it should be for police departments.

(32,475 posts)they can't just post on a job website. They hire already trained by police academies.
they definitely should not have kept hiring this guy but I guess the limited pool contributes to the problem

NINE??? That's astounding. Don't they do background checks on them before they hire them? And when he filled out the application, didn't they notice all those other jobs where he bombed out??
Stunning.

He needs to be refused employment because he's one bad apple.
