I mean, that a Republican would have removed troops from Iraq - specifically this would have been McCain. He may not have escalated things in Afghanistan like Obama did. Who knows? Surely the policy would have overall been more interventionist and aggressive than the Obama policy.

...possibly due to my anti-Ron Paul rants.

Enjoy it when we agree on something. Agree that "the policy would have overall been more interventionist and aggressive."

Here's the last post I can find when it came up, for context: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=115736

I think it will be an ongoing "thing" as the elections continue and Obama touts leaving Iraq. I know Juan Cole got crap for saying Obama should get credit for leaving.

I do not agree with everything, but that's politics. I imagine we probably agree on more than you may think.

The level of admiration for Ron Paul on this site seems quite high, inexplicably so. He is before all else a paleo-conservative right-winger, and the genealogy of those politics is disgusting. I dare say, worse than the neo-cons.
