that Barr would take being replaced really, really, really, badly.

He doesn't come off to me as a true Trump loyalist, but rather just a guy who is willing to do ANYTHING for power. That included selling his soul to Trump to be named AG. As long as he got to keep that spot, he'd do whatever he was asked to. I think if Trump were to take that away all of the loyalty he has shown before would be gone and he would instead be looking to bring him down as well.
