COVID-19 will rage like a forest fire in a U.S. that has no clear plan to deal with it and has regressed to a dismissive, pre-pandemic attitude, a top infectious disease expert said Sunday.
Americas leadership is unfocused, Dr. Michael Osterholm told Chuck Todd on NBCs Meet the Press, unlike other parts of the world that remain vigilant against the pandemic.
The spread of COVID-19 is like a forest fire, warned Osterholm, the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.
I dont think that this is going to slow down. I think that wherever there is wood to burn, this fire is going to burn. And right now we have a lot of susceptible people, he said.

The UK? They've got Boris Johnson.
Brazil? They've got Bolsonaro.
India? They've got Modi.
Yup, all the leaders named are super far right, anti-science climate change deniers. And as long as they're in charge, think of it like putting the Joker in charge of the Gotham Police Department - he'll never put out the fires and make things infinitely worse than they already are.
Maybe the earth is trying to send a message: don't fuck with fascism.

All feel like they are above/better than the people.
There may even be a pact to encourage the spread of this pandemic, and if it's not enough to encourage more mass deaths.
