'Do you feel any remorse?'One of the four officers charged in the killing of George Floyd was confronted by a shopper while buying groceries on Saturday in Minnesota.
J. Alexander Keung, 26, was released from Hennepin County Jail on Friday night on a $750,000 bond. He was approached by a woman while shopping at a Cub Foods grocery store the next day.
So youre out of prison and youre comfortably shopping in Cub Foods. As if you didnt do anything, said the woman who confronted him and filmed the incident.
Did you think that people werent going to recognise you? she added. You killed somebody in cold blood. You dont have the right to be here.

I understand and agree with her anger, BUT that's the justice system...he "deserves" a fair trial, right? (no I don't like it either... but there it is)
If many had their way, these men would have been rounded up and publicly shot or lynched as well...but supposedly we are more 'civilized" than that.

(32,626 posts)or even a 'person of interest', are hounded mercilessly, and don't venture out of their houses. Some people go about their lives, unencumbered, walking among those that witnessed their actions live on video. Civilized is not a word I would use to describe our society. Although, that man walking about free, would suggest otherwise.

(2,504 posts)What you just said is the difference between us and them, and I apologize to you for getting a little heated. What I should have said is that shame is a powerful tool. He shouldn't feel comfortable walking around in public getting food for himself and his family as if nothing happened when Mr. Floyd can not do the same for himself and his family because of his and the other officer's actions.

(13,362 posts)He was definitely being a cavalier asshole...and what was he buying? oreos and milk!
He SHOULD be heckled and harrassed IMO, and so should all of them...Isn't the first officer out on bail too? he is most likely hiding out cuz he knows people would throw rocks at him.
maybe we should bring back throwing rotten food at people like this, it's not assault, but it still makes a point...

(5,643 posts)I suppose he has a right to shop, but there was something unsettling about seeing him casually buying cookies and milk.
At least he can walk around free...not something George Floyd can do.
