According to a deep dive by *Politico into the success that the conservative anti-Trump Lincoln Project is having getting under the president’s skin, one of the founders of the group admitted that the inspiration for a rapid response team came from the wife of one of the other founders.

That would be a counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway, wife of Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway.

According to the *Politico report , the genesis of the group can be attributed to founding member Conway after speaking with his wife.

“Galen had co-founded the Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump PAC run by Republicans, with the goal of convincing Americans to vote against him in November. In May, the group thought Trump’s response to the pandemic had created the perfect opportunity to both make their case,” the report stated.
“Off of a brainwave that cofounder George Conway had during a conversation with his wife, White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, Galen and his small team guessed Trump would be particularly enraged by an in-the-moment ad that portrayed the president as making Americans ‘weaker, sicker and poorer’ than ever before.”

She has a job to do. That job is to defend the indefensible, to spin, to obfuscate – and to just blatantly lie.

And you have to admit, she’s good at her job.

Remembering the things she said about Trump when she was backing Ted Cruz, and comparing them to the things she said when Trump appointed her as his campaign manager, it is blatantly apparent that she’s a political whore who goes where the money is.

However, she lost her footing when she stayed on as his press secretary. She’s like a wedding planner who pulled off the most spectacular wedding day ceremony in history – and then decided that instead of moving on to the next couple, chose to stick around for the ugly, mud-slinging divorce.

There was a time when having ”I helped elect Donald Trump to the presidency” looked good on the ol’ resume – but those days are gone. It’s a toxic connection now, and it will become more toxic once the Dotard is out of office.

and Molly Jong-Fast. Conway said that in 2016, Brad Parscale apologised to Kellyanne Conway for running ads in the Washington DC area - a waste of money. But George Conway thought people needed to run ads to get Trump riled up, to both throw him off his message and to show how nuts he is:

"I was at Trump Tower in 2016, when Parscale came grovelling up to my wife, to apologise. His people had bought ads in the District of Columbia, which you don't do in a presidential election! There are no persuadable voters in the District of Columbia! ... That said, it stuck in my mind, I was thinking why can't you just run an ad on a cable provider for the White House, so that some certain individual would see it? We talked about that at lunch, I sprang some ideas for ads ..."
