He is not doing well at all. Then he fell and hit his head so he is in the hospital. He has dementia.
This is my first personal experience with someone I know having Covid 19.
These poor people in care centers are so fragile to begin with. They have dementia. They have all kinds of underlying health issues. They fall easily because their balance isn't good.
They don't need Covid 19 on top of everything else.
And they are all alone because no visitors are allowed. His wife is also high risk so she doesn't dare visit.
And people still think this is no big deal.[

(18,869 posts)He wasn't doing well before the Covid 19.
It's just so sad. People get old and sick and die but now their families can't even say good bye.

Terrible times.

(18,869 posts)He wasn't rich or famous or even extra intelligent. But he was a good man, a good caring husband and father. A good friend. He wasn't much of a talker but he would listen for hours if someone needed to talk.
It's just unbearably sad.

(18,869 posts)Now when I see the Covid death total for our county it will be 4 instead of 3. To everyone but his family he will just just be another number.
These are horrible times.

(18,869 posts)I think he was heavily sedated ar the hospital but what his family went through was just awful.
The hospital called his wife at 3 am and held the phone for him so she could talk to him one last time. Then all they could do was wait for the phone call telling them he had passed. They waited until 1pm.
His family could not see him or talk to him. He was surrounded by nurses all draped in soecial gear with their faces and heads covered.
Stay home. Wear masks. Wash your hands. You don't want to get this stuff. You don't want your friends and family to get this.
