Scroll down to the second one. (The first one we've already seen.) And this one truly is a tantrum. I don't know where it's shot, but the woman is bonkers.

(9,076 posts)There's another thread with facebook posts by someone was there. Apparently she had a mask on in the parking lot, took it off upon entering the store, and then started trying to provoke people.
Some people want attention, even if it's terrible attention.

(13,596 posts)I'm in Idaho, so we'll be about the last to see mandatory masks, but it may be coming. I have several FB friends that say they will never wear one. They should have kept their mouths shut about that. If I see them in a store with one on, I'm getting a pic, scrolling through their feed and posting it!

(10,909 posts)the West Wing to wear one?
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/11/white-house-issues-memo-requiring-staff-to-wear-masks-in-west-wing.html
... The directive from the White House management office was laid out in a memo to staffers Monday afternoon, NBC reported. ... The memo also asked staff members to avoid visiting the West Wing, where the Oval Office is located, unless it is necessary, the sources told NBC.
Something to keep in mind when some fuckhead harasses you about wearing a mask -- if they're so ineffective or the Covid19 is just a hoax, or if only wimps or Maoists wear them, then why does your fearless leader require everyone near him to wear a mask? Why is he wimpifying his staff -- and by extension himself?

The Trump Effect: An Update
The toxicity is spreading.
Posted Jan 30, 2018
Last spring we wrote a two-part post about The Trump Effect, which was originally defined as an increase in bullying in schools caused by the rhetoric Donald Trump used during his presidential campaign. Now, a year into Mr. Trumps presidency, the definition of The Trump Effect has expanded to include religious and racial bullying by adults as well as: misogyny, sexual assault, and other socially unacceptable behaviors.
To be clear, bullying is not a partisan issue; it is a behavior described as the use of power through strength or influence to intimidate another. It is practiced not only by humans, but by primates and other mammals. In the animal kingdom, where pecking order is an important aspect of survival, bullying can lead to shunning, beatings, expulsion from a troop of chimpanzees or congress of baboons, and ultimately even death of the victim. Unfortunately, the same behavior and its varying outcomes are also too true of humans.
However, we humans are more complex thinkers than our primate friends. For instance, we've taken an aspect of the pecking order and devised a complicated system of governance that includes a full spectrum of beliefs and ways of thinking that have been squeezed into two major political parties (Republican versus Democrat.) After 240 years since the birth of America as a unified nation, we find ourselves at a crossroads of divisiveness that hasnt been experienced in decades, if not for centuries. One of the most alarming facets of our current political climate is how partisan ideologies, when coupled with a tendency to bully, can lead to extremely harmful bullying.

(5,810 posts)the worst in them. They have been here all along. They just are not tolerating the situation very well. In fact, they feel fully entitled to throw a tantrum and the rest of us can just STFU. This wont end well because sooner or later theyll pull that sh*t in the wrong place with another equally nutty shopper.
You just cant make this sh*t up. What happened to were all in this together?
By the way, the one who said her doctor would not let her wear a mask didnt appear to have a breathing problem even as she screamed and yelled at the top of her lungs. She might have gotten a bit more sympathy from bystanders had she kept her cool while explaining her case.

Yep, and those reasonable accommodations were put forth by Republicans to protect business costs and lawsuits.
Trader Joe's is being reasonable by asking patrons to wear a mask. Don't wear a mask, don't shop here.

(35,454 posts)However I am seeing the price of TP starting to rise
TreasonousBastard
(43,049 posts)did some research.
There are only so many manufacturers and the business is very low margin, so if anything causes burps, the whole mess can fail, as it did.
There are two TP manufacturing chains-- one for us and one for commercial venues. We get the small rolls and KMart bathrooms get the large industrial rolls. If one small roll factory burns down and interrupts production, the large roll factories can't make up the difference, and vice versa.
That's kind of what happened a few months ago, with something interfering with the wood chips they make paper from. Now that that has pretty much been solved, they can play with prices.
Pure supply and demand now-- people are still overbuying, so the price goes up.
Me.
(35,454 posts)I won't hoard if there's a shortage but I will try for a couple of weeks. We'll see. I'm embarrassed to say what I had to pay at the beginning of the rise here. I never in my life thought I'd pay anything close to that. It's funny what has been hard to find at times...canned peaches are currently pretty scarce plus that tall container of TJ's sea salt. It's been out for 2 months and they say they may have it by July 13. Not like anyone is starving for salt and peaches. It just amuses me to see what goes missing and I try to figure why.

(34,136 posts)The first video, a witness said she wore one while waiting in line and until she got into the store. See my post for the deatils.
The second video, you can see the mask in her hand with her cell phone. She probably did the same thing as the first.
Last week at Costco, there were people at the door enforcing their requirement for masks. But even so, I saw a couple (probably in their 30s) not wearing masks as they shopped. It's hard for the stores to patrol every aisle if people are that willfully stupid.
Blue_true
(31,261 posts)The one in the lower video even shopped with a mask on, then took it off at the register and refuse to put it back on.
The second one should be arrested for destruction of property and disturbing the peace. The police will have her mask with her DNA in it and there is the video.

(3,334 posts)I don't know anything about psychiatry, but I think that people are trying to figure out what is happening. This pandemic is too big a thing for them to wrap their heads around. It's almost like a child who receives a gift they want but is too young to understand what to do with it. They are lost and acting out. Without guidance from the government, this will continue to get worse. I have noticed that my posts are getting more and more (sorry, I can't think of the right words) picture me sitting in front of my compute with my right arm swinging up and back trying to find the right words.

2. If you don't like a business's policies you should boycott it. I boycott Walmart and several other places because I don't want to give them a dime of my money. It doesn't make any sense to try to patronize a place which has policies that are fundamentally different from yours.

ETA - Shoot, the image of the message won't show.
Synopsis: The woman stood in line with a mask on for 30 mins. to get into the store. She then took her mask off, wandered around with her basket, putting no items into it, but "getting up in people's faces, getting as close as possible, waiting for someone to inevitably tell her to put her mask back on. And when a dude finally did - which didn't take long because she was being super aggressive - she lost it."
