U.S. Officials Press Trump to Wear Mask in Coronavirus Fight

Trump is coming under growing pressure from Republicans and Democrats to set an example for the country by wearing a face mask as the number of U.S. coronavirus cases hits new highs.

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R., Tenn.), who chairs the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, told CNN Sunday that it would help if Mr. Trump wore a mask in public because it might eliminate political stigma associated with the practice.

“If wearing masks is important—and all the health experts tell us that it is—in containing the disease in 2020, it would help if from time to time the president would wear one to help us get rid of this political debate that says if you’re for Trump, you don’t wear a mask, if you’re against Trump, you do,” Mr. Alexander said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) said Sunday a federal mandate to wear masks in public was “long overdue” and faulted Mr. Trump for not setting an example by wearing one in public himself.

“Real men wear masks,” she said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week.” “Be an example to the country and wear the mask. It’s not about protecting yourself. It’s about protecting others.”

followers. And don't think I won't rub it in when I see a few people I know having to comply with the mandatory mask laws I think are coming. I know that will just probably make it worse, but I won't be able to help it.

If he did he’d always make some snarky remark about it. Maybe a few more republican super clusters will get everyone to not provide him any venue for his rallies.

wear his makeup too. I'm serious. He won't do it. His "golden" tan is about all he's got left at this point.

He really looked like crap and you could see his makeup smeared on his white shirt collar. But really, don’t those fake spray tans stay put? I know a lot of people do it and that doesn’t seem likely if they rub off so easily. Or is he just doing his own makeup? That sounds the most likely. Didn’t his daughter say he does his own hair?

I think he could spare his ego if he made it mandatory because “you people” are spreading it, and now we HAVE to do this.

That would give him some cover, sort of.
