Fox News host: Trump is bleeding support and 'might drop out of the race'

(Raw Story) Fox News host Trace Gallagher suggested on Monday that President Donald Trump “might drop out” of the 2020 presidential race.

Gallagher made the remarks after a Fox News report speculated that Trump could exit the race “if his poll numbers don’t improve.”

“President Trump’s poll numbers declining in recent weeks amid criticism of his administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic,” the Fox News host said, “which is leading some speculation that if his support keeps falling, the president might drop out of the race.” .....(more)

He's "settled" on numerous lawsuits and civil court decisions, and on ones that he's adamantly stated he'd never settle. When defeat is at hand, Trumpy will find an escape route. THAT'S a consistent pattern in his life. To deviate from that would cost him dearly. He's always had the MONEY to pay off any entity before losing completely.

So the speculation may have nothing to do with any trial balloon. It just may be that observers are keen to research how Trumpy makes decisions throughout his life. Nonetheless, it's probably a good speculation to say that there's better than a 50-50 chance that he'll resign before the election.

Funny thing is, two days after he's gone, half of Trump's supporters will claim they never liked the guy.

Trump, the GOP, Faux Noise, and all of the numerous media outlets and dozens of foundations that support them are not going to garner any trust on my part. I don't really care if they admit that water is wet and fire is hot, that won't shift my strong and genuine skepticism which serves as a rather intuitive shield.

I have an open mind, but being played over and over is simply an appeal to gullibility and that's where I get off. Trust is to be earned, not simply given in this context.

Unless proven otherwise, my question is about what new, deceptive strategy they are rolling out to confuse, abuse and mislead everyone for the sole advantage of keeping power overall.

For instance, fears of him dropping out could be a way to rally the followers and supporters to put more effort in since they are in the sunk cost fallacy phase right now. Being heavily invested and then having your iconic, projection idol potentially disappear could be too much for them and so, as in a cult, they may double down.

People said he was dropping out in 2016 after Access Hollywood, and that didn't happen. Also, people on the right called for George HW Bush to drop out in 1992 when he was down in the polls. That was never going to happen either.

This is just what Republicans do when they think an incumbent GOP president is going to lose. They call for them to drop out, and they spread rumors that the candidate is already thinking about it.

Poll numbers and his treason aside, economy is ruined, over hundred thousand dead by biblical plaque which is spreading more rapidly than ever, tens of millions have lost their job, demonstrations on streets and Trump is tweeting white power videos to further escalate them to violence. I'd call that pretty abysmal work performance.

Will he drop out I'm leaning towards no. I think he enjoys the status and power of being the President too much.

He's a drag on the down ticket races. If he does drop out, he'll resign for "health reasons" to save face. The GOP might expect Pence to lose but the Senate is the trade off. And Pence can pardon the whole family for federal crimes.

If the Republicans keep the White House they'll hide all the treasonous behavior and we'll never know.

would stand a better chance of pulling currently disaffected voters back into the Republican column. Especially if Biden insists on having a woman of color as his running mate. All of the racists will flock to the Republican party then. And there are truly a lot of them.

tRUMP NEVER says " I'm sorry".

tRUMP NEVER admits "defeat".

tRUMP is "in best health of any President, ever"

When we start hearing about how "RIGGED" the election is, how "stacked against "me" the election is and how "corrupt the system is" on a regular hourly basis then consider something like "I'm outta here". But with so many headlines and investigations into *treason* of a sitting potus and the escalating Covid-19 pandemic "rigged" isn't gonna get much traction.

Doubling down and failure. Those two with him are as constant as the North Star.

He will stay in it.

He has waited too long. My guess is his organization is flimsy. I don't think they could pick Pence as the replacement. He's been too much of a Trump defender. They would have to pick someone like Jeb. But Trump would never go for that. It would have to be someone like Cotton, Desantis or Scott. Not sure they would go for that with such little time.

He'd be president already at that point, and shifting away from him wouldn't make anything less crazy.

He inspires no one, which is a good thing.

My thought is that he'll stay president until the election. A Pence candidacy would be a disaster.

... I would advise him to wait until November 4, 2020. If he wins - he's golden!
If he loses, he tells Pence, "How'd you like to be the 46th pResident? I can
make it happen. All I need is a full Federal pardon, post-dated and effective immediately upon my Resignation,
naming me, my daughter, and my sons. You can have Jared for the fall guy. I'll handle the various States' cases just
like always. If you want to be on the safe side I'll issue a Pardon for you one minute before I resign for health reasons.
Jared can take the rap for the Middle East, Turkey, Ukraine, Covid, and anything else you want to pin on him!"

Both Pardons would be like Tricky Dick's - Full and complete pardon for all offenses known and unknown.
