I can't recall any questions. I doubt this time our Soft Gloved Gregory would dare bring it up. As my father would have said He doesn't have any balls. Some of the crap I have heard should be evidence enough to put some in front of a firing squad.

Why is it that every single Republican debate (and there have been plenty of them) garners dozens and dozens of live threads on DU each filled with hundreds of replies, with people apparently assiduously watching and hanging onto every word of every bumf**k candidate, while, in general, when the president gives a speech, maybe three or four threads appear , each with just a few replies (some of which are about how the poster didn't get to see the speech but might watch the video later). The next day, there may be more threads, but only because people have gotten their second-hand marching orders from the anti-Obama sites, who told them what to think about the speech they didn't watch the previous day.

Is it because horse races are more interesting than governance? Is it because clowns are more fun to watch? I'm a bit befuddled by all this.

To watch these debates you have to make an effort to be free at that hour and then consciously tune to the right channel at the right time. One is happenstance, the other takes a concerted act of planning and extended attention. Just saying.

But I get your point: we prefer interesting train wrecks and crashes to that boring professorial stuff.
