Graceless and hateful.

Not sure if the dumptruck was full of horse manure or rotten garbage, but apparently there were no injuries.

(17,477 posts)the fact that they haven't been welcome at any funerals, including John McCain, who was a member of their party says a lot about how awful this administration and the people who surround him are that they can't show their faces.
It's just plain sad and depressing to think we've come to this in my lifetime.

(17,477 posts)I was just wondering what reason he gave. Knowing him, he'd probably go anyway.

(18,486 posts)And, having grown up in that tradition, President Carter surely knew that this funeral would last for several hours, a strain on even a healthy person.

(6,624 posts)And the little bit that I saw- versus listening on NPR showed people hugging each other- OMG I am so hoping that our Speaker did not hug anyone! Or any of our former Presidents!
They are all so precious!
In fact I am so relieved that nobody from Trump camp came as they would have for sure brought COVID with them!
I don't think they wanted to take focus especially as Biden would probably have had to speak. I didn't see our last real FLOTus and would've liked to.

Of course as PINO, rump should have sent someone but clearly chose not to. Should tell you something about his racist character, eh?
If anything (happens to rump and pence), the streets of the Country would be full of celebrations and happiness.

(100,133 posts)By now we all know who they are, and it would have struck a violently discordant note to have any of them there.
The McCain family (and iirc the Senator himself) explicitly did not want any Trumps at John McCains funeral, yet Jared and Ivanka weaseled their way in. Ugh.

(6,991 posts)Surely you're not shocked by now, because this administration is the most crooked, worst, most racist administrations EVER.
To be honest, I'm HAPPY that they didn't send anyone down there to strow their filth over those gracious people there, namely John Lewis who was practically GODLY compared with the current FILTH in the White House.

Dubya was about as much of that side as I could stomach - mainly because he's no longer in position to do any serious harm to our country or (what's left of) our government or our policies.
trump people didn't belong there, anyway. They salute a "man" who's against everything John Lewis stood for and marched for and bled for.
StarfishSaver
(18,486 posts)But they could have sent someone from among the thousands of people working in the administration - even a low level staffer - to show respect by attending.

Be interesting to see who goes to Cains funeral, because you know behind the scenes theyre calling him bad names and only mourning the propaganda loss of a well-known Black supporter.
