Because deliberate slowing of USPS resulting in people possibly unable to vote by mail is not an important story or anything.

it's hard to even figure out where they will be coming from next. Normal people don't think like this.

#deaths has actually been accelerating, with each 10,000 death milestone taking place in a shorter number of days. After a while people tune the numbers out, unfortunately.

However, by mid-October - when people begin voting - we may end up hitting 250,000 deaths (given current rates). That's an important number because it is a quarter-million people who died. That jump in perspective is a way of reframing it. People have a rough mental picture of one thousand, and a rougher mental picture of one million, with the former being considered "many" while the latter is "lots" - it's about the largest number that most people can actually visualize. A thousand is about the size of a high school. A million is the size of a medium-sized city such as Seattle or Austin. Most people tend to see numbers larger than that as being roughly the same - they tend to see billionaires as really rich millionaires (you know, maybe ten times as large), and a trillion dollars is just a bit bigger than a billion dollars.

The problem that Trump faces with Covid is that those numbers just keep growing, and the milestones become that much heavier. It makes it harder and harder for him to change the narrative for long, and because we're in a slow-motion avalanche at this point, when the narrative DOES change, it changes for the worse for him.

it will only get worse for Trump. The USPS is a staple of our society and almost everybody utilizes for important communications, even leaving aside all the lies about mail-in voting. The outrage is only just beginning. I believe it will only grow and Trump/DeJoy will face even greater scrutiny and blowback over it.

And it may well deep six them. The blowback gets worse by the hour.

I hope so.

One thought: We have been talking about how Trump was probably going to challenge the outcome of the election based on mail-in voting. Taking this approach to undermine the possibility of mail-in voting may suggest that they don't have confidence in their ability to stake out that ground in the aftermath of the election (because they obviously don't have any evidence thereof- The Trump campaign refused to file anything in Pennsylvania yesterday)

the real reason is to eliminate absentee votes. "Don't have 'em; can't count 'em."

Trump always cheats to win (even in golf) . He won’t be successful. I also think Trump enjoys trolling people and seeing their fear. We have to take it seriously though don’t we?

wherein he'll be traveling around the country giving 'rallies' to his dwindling supporters - all culminating in Scranton PA on the night that Joe gives his acceptance speech.

The USPS issue is just another attempt in the long line of attempts to destroy the country - if the day ends in a 'y', that's what's he's doing.
