(14,860 posts)If she had waited, I suspect the complaint would have been something like, "gee, why did she wait so long to endorse Joe?"

(22,913 posts)It's the type of thing that would classically fit into a disinformation campaign that Putin would approve of. The sole purpose of the original NBC tweet, other than to attract revenue clicks, is to sow discord among Democrats, to create the impression of bitter divided where they do not exist and stinging slights that never happened. Good for AOC. I love that she never lets this type of crap go on without calling it out.

(19,114 posts)They're looking for anything to sow division. The Democratic Party is united like never before, AOC and Sanders have given full throated endorsements of the candidate.

Can't wait until the only thing folks like Zuckerberg have influence over is the typeface to use for the obituary page in some Dumbfuckistan Murika shithole local newspaper.
Seriously, alongside the Donnie Dollhands Crimes commission to investigate and prosecute Donnie Dipshit and his enablers, there needs to be a fucking sledgehammer taken to the media and social media.
Never again should so few have control of so many.

(145,558 posts)Collin Allred and Connor Lamb ended up with more time than AOC last night as participants in the key note speech with Stacy Abrams and I was happy with this. I loved the revised key note speech last night with all of the young rising stars of the party such as Connor and Collin. BTW, Collin is a voting rights attorney who worked at Marc Elias' firm and has been a great freshman congresscritter. I have donated to Connor and will be giving him another donation this week

(12,401 posts)as she is a smart and energetic lady. Its only that at this point in her career, I want to see her name less in the floodlights. I realize that this notoriety is not necessarily her fault, but she does usually happen to have a quote or a photo opportunity when others dont. Otherwise I have nothing against her.

(20,630 posts)from the idea that "respected" media outlets are absolutely DESPERATE to hang onto their "Trump-sized" ratings they've been experiencing since 2015, and will do anything to push the "Dems in disarray" meme.

(42,862 posts)Ad hominem (Latin for 'to the person'), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a term that refers to several types of arguments, most of which are fallacious. Typically this term refers to a rhetorical strategy where the speaker attacks the character, motive, or some other attribute of the person making an argument rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself. This avoids genuine debate by creating a diversion to some irrelevant but often highly charged issue. The most common form of this fallacy is "A makes a claim x, B asserts that A holds a property that is unwelcome, and hence B concludes that argument x is wrong".

(1,977 posts)I like AOC but to me she doesnt have the temperament for anything above her current office. I like her fire and her passion but I am not sure she would do well in a role that requires more even handedness. Maybe after a little more experience. I hope so because I do think she could have a bright future. With that said I have no problem with her pushing for more progressive policies within the party. She (IMO) is doing it the right way. Working within the party. Ironically, (although I voted for him to show support for his ideas) the guy she supports, Bernie, is (IMO) doing it wrong... Using the Democratic platform instead of joining it permanently and working from within the party.
