What really struck me about Jacquelyn, the NYC Security Guard who nominated Joe.

She sounded like an actual, normal, regular human being.

Sure, she talked about how excited she was to have met Joe Biden and how she said she loved him. But it felt normal. It felt natural.

No glassy eyed stare. No cheap looking red hat. No shouting idiotic slogans or acronyms.

I doubt she owns a boat. But if she did, I doubt she'd be parading it with giant Joe Biden flags on it.

She simply was able to relay a heartwarming story about a brief encounter with a politician she liked and respected--a story that wasn't unlike my own brief encounter with Vice President Biden--and it didn't come off sounding like she was some sort of crazy member of a cult.

I don't think we'll hear any stories at the RNC like Jacquelyn's. Trump lacks the basic humanity to make that sort of connection. Instead, he demands worship, blind loyalty and adoration.

There are probably many personal stories about her family, her life, and her heart that we may never know - but Joe does because he took the time to get to know her....

She was awesome. But holy crap, I thought those jobs went away like 60 years ago.

Not sure if operating the elevator was one of her regular duties or not.

Back in 1982 I turned him away at the entrance to the DNC Mid-Term conference in Philadelphia because I didn't know who he was...(I've told him that story)

it sounded like she's an elevator operator, but she isn't. Part of her job involves escorting visitors on elevators on their way to meetings, which is how she met Biden: https://www.vox.com/2020/8/19/21375027/jacquelyn-brittany-nominates-joe-biden-dnc-elevator-moment
