(19,259 posts)one of my Mom's friends had a '57 Chevy Bel Air golf cart that was really great looking. A lot of those old folk sink some big bucks into customizing their golf carts.

(8,116 posts)in The Villages. The developer is a big Republican supporter, so things often seem skewed toward the GOP, but they sure aren't the only game in town.

(2,513 posts)....whole town was uniformly populated by RWNJ who lived to play golf, drive the Corvette or Mustang that they had always wanted and dance, very badly, at one of the nightly "town square" venues with truly horrible live music.

(2,247 posts)it could be because the loyal dems, being in the minority, are highly motivated to seek out sympathetic company.

Because form the article and interviews, there are a lot of *ahem* there

(8,116 posts)going on there too. With the age of the people, the booze, and some bias already built into their viewpoints, they sometimes can become pretty obnoxious. I've seen many older people, even without the drinking, get more narrow-minded as they age, or their quirks become much more pronounced. I'm an exception, of course.

(52,129 posts)The "It is what it is" plan of do nothing doesn't sit well with the most at-risk groups like seniors.

(19,259 posts)would act their age and stop this childish crap. Now The Villages Chapter of The John Birch Society will do everything in their power to "one-up" Democratic golf carters next week and a very slow war will break out. Divisions of "walker warriors" will came damned close to drawing blood before this is over, you watch. This is mostly but I'm really tired of hearing about 'The Villages'. By the way, I'm 70, so no shade about "dissing old people" is needed.

(8,116 posts)trump's popularity. Biden has a good ad down here starring a couple in The Villages who criticize trump about his covid response. The place has a big chunk of three counties now. They don't need politics to go to war, there's trouble brewing over there about several things.

(19,259 posts)cluster of STDs as well. Grandma and Grandpa are up to no damned good in that place. I actually looked into living there when I retired. The sales agent allowed me to drive around in.........you guessed it, a golf cart, and explore on my own. By the time I was done I told her I wouldn't live there for all the tea in China. There are some very uptight, angry people in that place!
