(11,460 posts)Trying to figure out best time to get. If you get too early doesn't last all winter.

It was the old folks strength, and despite what some here have reported, all either of us have is a sore spot, which is almost gone now.

I am still wondering if the illness I got right after T-giving through early January was a form of Covid. It was unlike any other cold/flu I have had before.
The hallmarks were extreme chest congestion where I couldn't breathe and a harsh, dry cough - not productive - despite taking Mucinex and using other home remedies to loosen up my chest. I was coughing so hard I was throwing up and could barely breathe.
I tried to go into work a few times and they just sent me home so I WFH most of the month (this was before anyone knew about Covid). I spent most of my days, nights and weekends using Vicks and hot compresses on my chest to try to loosen up whatever was in my chest, but it didn't help very much. It was a miserable month.
I also couldn't taste very much, or really at all. Everything tasted the same. Additionally, I had abdominal/intestinal issues. I did not have a fever. I never went to the hospital because I thought it was just a bad cold and I had spoken to others who had heard that my symptoms were common of whatever cold had been going around locally. I didn't think it was necessary and thought it would just clear up on its own.
I had read some articles lately that suggested that an earlier European version of Covid might have been here as early as October/November. Once I start trusting the hospitals/doctor's offices again, I may go in just to get an antibody test just to check.

(9,478 posts)I am not waiting for October as I am kind of expecting that there will be a resurgence of Covid by then.
I also don't really trust anything that comes out of a Federal agency at this point.
