Yesterday, independently of one another, my two grown, dedicated-teacher children texted me with a very similar comment/question. Basically:
“As a country we are f’d, aren’t we?“

Normally choosing a “cheerleader-esque ” look for the most positive uplifting message. I simply replied:

Yes.

That was before hearing this book report.
