(29,098 posts)Oy...Those Trumpers all they got left now is insanity and that's no defense.

(36,527 posts)where the host pointed out that the media never tells or shows the viewers the size of the protest area. They make it sound like the entire city is under siege. Why can't we get some drone footage to show the true scope of the protests? Or even just a map of the city with the protest area highlighted? Or a crowd size estimate compared to the population of the city?
I know the answer to my question. The media is only as liberal as the conservative corporations that own it. I saw that on a bumper sticker once.

I'm blown away at how well this is working for Trump in the Midwest among blue collar workers, It's depressing to see how many people I run into who are now seriously considering voting for Trump because of how the protests and rioting is playing out in the media.

(3,164 posts)Every rioter helps Trump. And by "rioter" I don't just mean the stupid assholes who smash and burn and paint graffiti, but don't disburse when a curfew is called, and the assholes who justify it with "Well you care more about property than lives" bullshit trope. All of the forgoing might as well be tattooed 'MAGA' on their fucking foreheads.
He's going to do better this time than last, and it will be the dipfucks who shut down traffic and spraypaint shit that will do it.

(4,103 posts)I work in the field of industrial automation and visit factories across the Midwest and Northeast, just recently I've began traveling again and was completely blown away at how many people now support Trump because of these protests than did back when I was traveling to these same places prior to the pandemic breaking out, and it's not just White males, not even close.
If the Democrats continue focusing on social issues instead of the economy and healthcare. Trump will easily sweep the Midwest and win the Electoral Vote again.
And what hurts most of all, is this could be an easy win for the Democrats right across the board if they just focus on concerns of voters in the swing states instead of allowing attention seekers and rioters to define them in the eyes of voters.

Only fear and hate drive their victories. Let em sell Trump autographs on eBay for assistance. Fuck those brown people. Sorry evilgelicals, God Aint Blessin MurKKKa, in the slightest. No matter how many times you say it or print it on money. No Blessin going on here.

A powerful derecho storm that swept through the Midwest on Monday has left thousands of acres of crops completely devastated, and officials say more than half a million people could be without power for quite a while.
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) said the storm, which had hurricane-force winds up to 112 mph, destroyed at least one-third of the entire state's crops. More than 10 million acres were completely flattened, leading Reynolds to say she thinks the storm should qualify for federal disaster declaration. The Washington Post reports between 180 and 270 million bushels of corn were likely damaged, shortly before harvesting usually begins in September.
The storm left one man dead in Iowa and one woman in Indiana. Teams are working to restore power, though USA Today reports full recovery could take weeks.
