5. Got mine 2 weeks ago and pneumonia shot yesterday-my doc says it is not too early for flu shot

When I asked my doctor yesterday if it was too early for flu shot and if immunity would run out, she said no because the shot is designed to protect throughout the entire flu season giving me a very technical answer about immunity and T cells that was above my head. But we agreed that it would be a good idea to stay out of shops and indoor theaters and gatherings anyway through next April.

11. First time I went into a store in 6 months was Walgreens yesterday for the shot

I made the appointment ahead of time. The store was pretty empty so easy to keep away from others.

I was lucky. I got the last senior version of the flu shot they had in stock. They don't know when or if they'll get another shipment of it. I missed out last year because I waited until October. By then everyone was out of stock. So I was determined to get it in early September since that's a good month to have the vaccine working well by November when the season is in full swing.

You're right. It's painless. In fact I didn't feel it at all.

I think last Friday when I picked up my wife's scrip at CVS. If not Friday, it was Saturday.
I had zero side effects.
Injection site didn't even turn red. Zero negative effect!

I guess it's pharmacy shots for us... I know my sister's Medicare will cover her, but not sure about my OHP. I'm union and have supplemental Kaiser, so maybe I'm good there.

...and like the shingles shot he sneaks up on me and gives me one. We are waiting until the end of Sept. This is the first time I ever have had a flu shot. I have never had the flu but I just turned 70 and If I get ill I want the drs to be able to rule out the flu asap.

I usually get the flu shot later thru work, but since I already had the dr. appt scheduled, might as well take advantage.

We're getting our shipment sometime next week.

but I don't flu shots because I react. Fortunately for me, my wife gets hers.

So, I thank all who can and do get their flu shot, so that I can piggyback on your immunity.
