none of the Nazis hung at Nuremberg ever expected to be punished for their part in the total picture, either.

I would have no problem putting some of these guys in prison forever. The problem is, it clashes with free speech rights. Is there no law that says the head of the FEC needs to be at arm's length from the candidates?
