Jessica Krug (GWU Prof. who pretended to be black) speaking

The story is shocking, of course. But I was listening to her SPEAK. OMG. She tries to mimic what she considers a black NY'er accent

and the result is so shocking (I mean, I can barely listen to it). I don't know how to embed it from this page, but it's halfway down.

HORRIBLE.

I just don't care. Either with Dolenzal. If they did something illegal or unethical that's wrong. bullimiami Sep 2020 #1

that's clear. And a bit racist.

But as to a larger point. I'm not sure yet how this fits into 'identity' politics. As I've written elsewhere, I am not a postmodernist - and so I want data and science at the heart of our policy. Narrative always has a place, but it should not drive our reforms.

I don't know what it means yet to have a few people outed as trying to identify their way into oppression narratives. Is it just a few? Is it just race? I don't know. I'm just kind of watching. These stories might be, as you suggest, a one-off.
