The Presidential Medal of Freedom is an award bestowed by the president of the United States to recognize people who have made "an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors".

Edwin Meese – Former Attorney General who resigned after a scandal involving government contracts.
Orrin Hatch – Useless rethuglican senator.
Babe Ruth – Baseball player who drank a lot, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Roger Staubach – Goody two-shoes football player.
Tiger Woods – Golfer whose ex-wife hit him with a golf club after he had multiple infidelities.
Jim Ryun – Asshole rethuglican who was a track star.
Jerry West – LA Lakers basketball player.
Mariano Rivera – Baseball player who I actually had to Google.
Roger Penske – NASCAR.
Rush Limbaugh – Drug addict.
Antonin Scalia – Bigot.
Elvis Pressley – Oh well.
Jack Keane – Former General and Fox News Contributor.
Lou Holtz – Asshole.
Alan Page – Great football player who became a judge. I have no idea why he is in this group. According to a news article on NBC Sports“Page has never shied away from letting people know what he thought of Trump, and what he feels he’s doing to the country. He said last year that Trump’s ‘administration has played to’people’s worst fears and has played to people’s racial insecurities.’ When asked what he’d say to the President, Page said he’d be ‘inclined not to want to talk to him’ because ‘you’d probably get more reaction out of the paint on the wall.’”

4. Roger Penske is a lot more than NASCAR.

Owns Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Decades of success in racing and business, a class act by most accounts.

5. To be fair, re: Roger Penske....

He is actually better known for his Indy Car Team than his NASCAR efforts. His team has won the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race an astounding 18 times.

He owns Penske Truck Leasing, among other entities, both publicly traded and closely held, and those companies provide a decent living to thousands of people.

And he is, unlike Trumpy, an actual, true, self-made billionaire.

I’ve worked for a firm he partly owned in the Racing Industry, I saw him on a regular basis for years, and for a time back in the 90’s we were on a first name basis.

He has my respect.

Now, having said that, he is certainly a Republican and a conservative, but I truly doubt he really thinks too much of Trumpy.

He is at the utmost, a professional, and since he was invited to the White House to get the award, he went. Not going would have not been something “The Captain” would do.

I would not be surprised to find out he donated to Trumpy’s campaign, but I do sincerely think that he does not hold the current President in much regard.
