OP
So he's happy to describe Vietnam vets as "suckers", but her source didn't confirm it for WW1 troops

So he admits to all of it save for whatever he thinks the most salacious part is? He said dozens of disgusting things about our troops. I suppose hes saying she didnt confirm losers and suckers.
Actually she confirmed the whole story, she just didnt repeat that in FOX.

therefore he thinks he's vindicated?
But later today, while Griffin took pains to say she couldnt confirm the most salacious allegation, she essentially confirmed the whole thing.
But as Griffins further comments revealed, we didnt need to hear those exact words about the war dead at Aisne-Marne to know that they are exactly the sentiments Trump holds and that he has expressed one way or another.

GRIFFIN: I spoke with two senior U.S. officials, former U.S. officials, who were on the trip to France, one of whom was in the meeting to plan the trip to the cemetery and they confirmed key parts of The Atlantic article. However, neither confirmed the most salacious allegation, that the president described the American war dead at the Aisne-Marne Cemetery as suckers and losers.
But as Griffins further comments revealed, we didnt need to hear those exact words about the war dead at Aisne-Marne to know that they are exactly the sentiments Trump holds and that he has expressed one way or another.
GRIFFIN: One former Trump administration official told me today, when the president spoke about the Vietnam War, he said, It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker. The president would often say, according to this source, about American veterans, Whats in it for them? They dont make any money. The source said it was a character flaw of the president. He could not understand why someone would die for their country, not worth it to him.
Multiple sources say they heard the president say something similar at Arlington National Cemetery, standing in front of General John Kellys son Roberts grave.

And The Atlantic said the "suckers" remark about WW1 soldiers was a separate conversation on the trip, so if Griffin's source is a different person, it's not that surprising that one detail wasn't confirmed:
In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, Why should I go to that cemetery? Its filled with losers. In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as suckers for getting killed.
