Republicans disturbed Trump has spent nearly $60 million in donations on legal fees: report
Published 1 min ago on September 5, 2020By Tom Boggioni

According to a report from the New York Times, some Republican officials are casting a skeptical eye at both the millions of dollars in donations that Donald Trump is spending on legal fees as well as the reasons for some of the expenditures.

The report notes that the president “… and his affiliated political entities have spent at least $58.4 million in donations on legal and compliance work since 2015,” which is raising some eyebrows.

For comparison’s sake, the Times reports that former President Barack Obama spent $10.7 million on legal fees during the equivalent period starting in 2007 and that former President George Bush spent even less — which included his legal battle over his election that went all the way to the Supreme Court.

All they care about is not being subjected to what they refer to as "wealth redistribution." Having to pay their fair share.

That would be the Republicans who continue to prop up Trump, then scratch their heads in confusion while he waltzes off with their money.

Why not when it was $10 million in donations? Or when it was $20 million?

Now that trump is tanking they are concerned. Now that the repercussions of supporting Dump are on the way.

he gets confidentiality, and can justify paying them as "legal fees" without having to say what they are really doing.

Michael Cohen
John Dowd
Ty Cobb
Giuliani
Jay Goldberg
Joseph diGenova
Victoria Toensing
Jay Sekulow

Those are just the high profile names (not all, I imagine) that have been his 'personal lawyer' or "on his legal team". There'll be a lot more. Plus there are "lawyers" like Manafort whose only connection with law is breaking it, but whom he may pay as a "lawyer".

Republican business economics 101:

If you claim assets of $6 billion and have debts of $8 billion, your net worth is $6 billion, since you have no intention of paying back the $8 billion you owe. And if you have legal expenses of $60 million, you STILL get someone else to pay for them. Just because.
