Disillusioned Democrats who voted for Hillary in 2016 but who now plan to vote for Trump. Not so many reports of that.
Nor is there a high profile ad campaign organized by former Democrats urging the defeat of Biden called The (George) Wallace Project.
You don't read daily reports of ex-Obama Administration officials who knew and worked with Joe Biden coming forward saying that Biden must be defeated for the good of the country.
Nor are new books released every week from former close associates of Joe Biden blasting him for his horrific failings as a human being.
And we don't read much about people who voted for Democrats in 2016, but this time they are voting Green, either.
We do still hear from die hard Trump supporters who remain die hard Trump supporters. They are the loud minority.

Trumpers everywhere here in Ohio. Trump yard signs 5 to 1 over Biden signs is my guess. They love to put like 5/signs in one persons yard. I thought I might see a few of the signs come down after the losers and suckers comments, but I think they have put up even more this weekend. Ohio sure has the dumb. At least my area does.

(3,505 posts)and it seems there are very few cities in your state with growing suburban populations (but maybe I'm wrong). Like most states, the rural areas have been declining for a very long time (rural is farming and farming is more automated every year so you need less people to produce the same). Note that PA and OH once had the same number of electoral votes now PA has two more than OH and the 2020 census will probably take another away from OH; PA may maintain.
Rural = Republican = aging and falling populations. Cities = Democratic = aging and somewhat falling populations. Most of state growth, if there is any, is in the suburbs surrounding large population centers. These people tend to be better educated, value education and are more inclined to view women and men as equals. These are the areas, at least in PA, that the Democratic party has made the most inroads in the last election cycle (2018). In PA, a handful of counties will determine if Biden carries the state. If he does better in the NE than Hillary did in 2016 and gets Philadelphians and the surrounding counties to go for him along with the Lehigh Valley then he should cary the state. I leave out Pittsburgh because, while important, they are more "blue collar" than the SE and Lehigh Valley, their population is aging and declining and are more prone to go Republican than in decades past.

(42,770 posts)A weird, inexplicable phenomenon. The more dirt that comes out about Trump, the better he does or at least doesn't hurt him. One could conclude that a strategy like this of pouncing on things people already know is not working.
Just wish the election was today. Feels exactly like watching your team take an early lead in a game and you hold your breath hoping they don't whiddle it away. Trump signs popping up all over here. In TX too.
Wish we would concentrate on those things Republicans say they don't like about Trump. Too much tweeting, horrible treatment of kids at border, crimes against environment.

(13,079 posts)relations treatment (the lack thereof) by the Idiot's administration. As well as the disrespect of the military by the Con. They're doing a good job.
BTW comparing the way Hillary's campaign was run tot Biden's is a bit much. There were so many things going against Hillary's campaign in 2016 (Russian meddling (who knew?), Comey, her unpopularity, the baggage from Benghazi & Bill's past, distrust of her due to the fact she's a Clinton & the fact she's a woman, etc. The polls grossly underestimated these factors.

(42,770 posts)To me, you have to find proof that substantiates it. Quotes from Republicans, trump. Bills introduced/passed that prove a glimmer of it. IOW, do some homework.
Trump does not care about the environment - proof - he reversed Obama reg that stopped coal companies from dumping sludge with poisonous matter into the waters our kids swim in. Quote the regulation. Bet trump doesn't even know he signed the reversal. What could he say?

(22,509 posts)signs very cheap or for free. We have to pay $25 from the Biden office.
But I am determined to find a printer around here to make signs for a lot cheaper. And I'll buy more than one and give them out.
murielm99
(30,782 posts)our signs are union made. They have the union bug on them.
Printing them cheaper deprives some union printer of work.
Happy Labor Day.

(30,782 posts)See if there is a way you can get signs from one of your county Democratic committees if payment is a problem.
We have a couple of committees around here who purchased large numbers of them. They are not charging. It may depend on where you get your signs.
I have had to pay for a sign supporting our governor and supporting the Fair Tax in Illinois. Everything else has been free.
I don't mind paying for signs. It frees up campaign money for other things. And I will always support union workers.

(1,537 posts).....back there, eighty or ninety percent are Trump supporters, most are quite rabid about it. I really can't explain how blind they are in this regard. Some of them are kind and generous people. The common thread seems to be that they resent black folk and hate the government. I don't go back to visit much.

(10,435 posts)First, they are indeed loud, obnoxious pieces of shit. That's a small part.
The main reason they are "loud" is that the corporate media has decided once again that it is those people who we need to pay attention to. They wouldn't be nearly as "loud" if the cameras would get pointed elsewhere, and if they weren't given a national megaphone.
I'd like to know who is behind the vomiting up of signs, flags etc all over the country. Democrats never have as many yard signs, republicons have always been more aggressive about putting signs in peoples yards and rights-of-way along streets. But the tRump cult is over the top. I've seen several places set up in parking lots of boarded up businesses in small towns selling tRump crap out of the back of vans.

(22,919 posts)Democrats are no where near as addicted to loudly displaying gang identification symbols as is the Trump cult: "Show that you belong, Buy and display THIS!"
But you remind me of the coverage the media gave "Tea Party" rallies of a few hundred people relative to how they downplay peace and justice rallies of multiple thousands.

Trump supporters at this stage are lemmings heading for the cliff. Let them. Dont stand on the way. Let them self-destruct along with their fearless leader.
The big unknown is if Trump can last 60 days. Today would be a great day for him to resign.

Every time we gained 4 points in the polls, more of that flotsam was released to drag us down. Wonder if we'll ever know who the schemers were, or if they were all simply paid off.
That being said, HRC was a truthful candidate running against a con man's brigade determined to undermine truth to plunder the spoils of power. This time the con man is a spent entity who has destroyed his own credibility and left even his own diehards vulnerable, satiated, exposed. Biden-Harris is restoring truth, credibility, competence. So the role reversal is to our benefit.

(42,862 posts)... we'll never have to hear from her again. She's such a hypocrite! (81,594 posts)is my friend the Republican who just couldnt possibly bring herself to vote for Hillary in 2016. She insists her conscience is clear (what-evvvvvvverrrrrr) but at least shes not voting for trump again. I console myself that at least its one less vote for trump.
I think she wont vote Democratic because of the pro-choice issue. Just a guess. Were so different that way. An anti-choice position among politicians is a deal-breaker for me. NOBODY - BUT NOBODY owns my body or has ANY say over what I do with it - but me.
I often wonder how she or anyone else can justify their so-called pro-life position in light of the utter sadistic cruelty of the trump and policies (after all, cruelty is the point). From the abomination of children snatched from their mothers arms and locked in cages at the border to this herd immunity crap that people like Dan Patrick are hustling - where enough proper exposure and infection is rationalized as okay for most of us, even though it includes an expected death toll over TWO MILLION PEOPLE as the cost of doing business.

(21,270 posts)Who used to be apolitical is now on the MF45 train and thinks he is the greatest president ever because the economy is so good and she was allowed to take money out of her IRA. Shes 61 and just has a high school diploma. The younger one has a college degree And like us hates mf45 with a passion. And her husband is also is a MF45 supporter who attacked us looney liberals last time We were out there. The older sister Has 4 children and all are MF45 supporters. The older one has her loser 37 year never married no girlfriend son living with her and I suspect he is QAnon and is feeding her the bs. The younger sister was so distraught saying she is dreading the holidays. We are going out to visit for Xmas and I hope Biden is elected otherwise they will be gloating towards us and my husband will not take it well.

(22,919 posts)'but instead I'll say that polarizing politics inevitably will push some people from the mushy middle (small as that might be) to either side of a growing divide. The trouble for Trump is that the more stridently he pushes Americans apart, the more a majority of those still in play move away from him.

(7,485 posts)This may have had some allure in 2015 in a country awash in mostly First World problems. Open the bull gate and watch all the crooked clowns dance and scamper away.
Then coronavirus hits and we have ourselves the Big Third World Problem of simply trying to survive. Now all the broken china just amounts to a big mess in the way with no essential business getting done.
So chalk it up as a failed experiment. Live and learn. The job of President clearly calls for experience and character. Lets go back to that.
