The quiet hidden trump voter

I hear this talk about the quiet hidden Trump voter, the people who like what he is doing but are embarrassed to say they support or scared because of the reaction they may get. I think that is bull crap, most Trump voters I know or see show their Trump support with pride, their cars are all MAGA’d out, they love wearing the MAGA hat, they flaunt their arrogance....if anything, there are quiet hidden Biden voters, people who support him but are afraid to admit it because all of the loud and annoying Trumpers around them

I've noticed less than a dozen with Trump yard signs in town. Granted, I have only seen 2 Biden signs. But we all know up here that putting D signs on your lawn will get stolen or vandalized. That's how Republicans operate here - its the kinds of people that the brand attracts. So, the lack of signs means nothing with how I think that the vote will go - personally, I think Biden/Harris will carry my town and the entire 2nd district.

Lifelong Republicans who are convinced that "liberals" are bad, and don't see anything wrong with what Trump is doing -- probably because they believe much of the negative stuff is the result of media bias (i.e. "they don't report the good stuff" ) or is sensationalized to appear worse than it (supposedly) is. They believe in Trump simply because he is the Republican. And these are not rabid MAGA rednecks with guns or caps or bumper stickers, and they're not selfish, aggressive buttheads. They do like their Rush and Hannity, so they're getting a regular dose of right-wing "reality" all the time. But you wouldn't spot them in a crowd as Trumpers.

It is vital to understand the evangelical, anti-science, anti-evidence mind set. Michael Moore gets it. trump gets it. Lying is truth; faith is for god; jesus is for real; heaven, sin, etc.

The true believers are poised to flood the votes and hide until Nov 3. They are organized via a silent network of churches and pastors.

National polls are worthless. Trump's folks are focused on Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida, Arizona. The bad ones hide their true intentions when answering pollsters. Deflecting attention is a very successful tactic.

Evangelical religionists will produce a Trump victory in the Electoral college.

Other polls may help in Senate races.

I live in Western MA and can tell you that i recently found out my HR person is a trumper. Totally would not have expected it. I work in a progressive workplace (food coop), i can quite frankly see why they would not want to talk openly about it. (They were spotted at a rally, which is how i know) There may not be that many, but they certainly exist.

Only some of them are going underground. I don’t think Trump has grown in voter support, in fact I believe his support has shrunk.

That being said I don’t think anyone is taking this election for granted. I think there will be a much higher turnout, especially amongst Gen-Z.

the cheating that took place in 2016. The "quiet Trump voters" were the votes that got changed in WI, MI, PA, and probably other places, via hacking. I felt that the first time I saw Kelleyanne come out with that concept.

I grew up with many of these folks who would never admit their fear and distaste for POC in public. They have some degree of self observation to know they should be ashamed of how they feel yet their feelings may very well drive them to abandon rational thought. Fear and hate are powerful forces and can overwhelm all logic and rationality for some people.

tRump appears to have lost 6 to 8 points across most competitive districts.

Historically Repuke voters are motivated in mid terms. So either Dem leaning voters turned out in mass or we had increased Dem turnout AND decreased Repuke support.

My guess is the latter, and I expect the same for the 2020. Increased and motivated Dems with a loss of votes for the ShitStain.

I expect Biden/Harris to outperform Obama/Biden numbers from 2008 with a tRump loss of about 1 million votes.

That would result in about a 9 million vote win for the ticket. (Obama won by 9.5 million) If they only match 2012 numbers then it would still be a 5 million vote win.

And yes, I am hoping for the 10 million plus vote win.

In 2016 at around this time Gary Johnson was getting 8% of the polling support. He would only get 3% of the vote. That 5% went exclusively to Trump. There’s your silent support. There is no Gary Johnson this time around nor is there a shill Stein to play spoiler in close states.

types. "If I have a job, my family does, and my best friends do ..boom..all I care about." Also see a segment in business. Their livelihood depends on how their business is doing financially. Not that they don't care about people or other things but their business is first. Both segments, if doing ok financially stick with status quo...vs. unknown.

There are apolitical people who don't really understand much ideology on either side or care. They may be even able to ignore the fact that the president is a moron and a racist corrupt asshole if they think their life is going smooth and they don't want change. I don't think right now much of anyone would say their life is going smooth and they would choose this state of affairs, so I doubt that will be much of a thing.

Many of them, personally. They live and work in communities where Trump flags fly all around them. Several own businesses and can't afford to alienate their clientele, others don't want risk not getting that much needed job, or raise by offending. I know people from nursing homes, and all across the spectrum of peoplewho live in the vocal areas of Trump support who are voting for Biden, but won't publicly be political because of the vengeful jerks they live amongst.

It truly does go both ways. In the end this is a state by state election thanks to our electoral system. We just need phonebank the hell out of all of our red area "Silent" Dems and get them to the polls to vote. Most I've been speaking to (phone banking) agrees it's up to them to vote and get Trump out of office. But, I'm a rare friendly voice in their otherwise hostile community.

What I wish is that every Democrat in swing states would volunteer to GOTV. Even if all they can manage is a couple of hours, or even one hour total. If they would we'd truly kick the Orange Stain in the White House to the curb handily. Sometimes people just need a tiny bit of human touch to remind them they're not alone and their vote truly does still matter. Which is something Trump's campaign psy-ops on these people is trying to suppress.
