Just on MSNBC: Drug companies release joint statement about COVID vaccine

They are pledging not to release any vaccine that has not been fully proven to be safe and effective.
They are worried that confidence is very weak and that they need to restore public confidence.

The entire CV epidemic started (lets say last Nov. 2019?, so at the most 11 months, and they say roughly 18 months minimum, for a vaccine, if successful. 18 months.

The dipshit in the WH is bound and determined to yet kill more people than what he has already (roughly 200K +- by now, w/ the CV). Pardon my language but his incompetence is beyond comparison...and the GOP failed to vet trump, despite having amply warnings, with six different bankruptcies as well as numerous personal stories about trump's ridiculous behavior).

Too many people discount the sciences and their findings until they need something right away. As an example, look at people's attitudes about global climate change.

They have no understanding of the processes or the difficulties involved. Yet they think the drug companies should have the vaccine by now! Stupid people, mostly.

I was flipping through an old magazine and I noticed most of the ads were for prescription drugs...heartburn, hypertension, allergies, etc.. later it occurred to me that 3/4 of those drugs had been pulled off the market because of dangerous side-effects...a rushed-to-market covid vaccine with the high possibility of catastrophic side-effects is ok with the Donnie the Dung Heap as long it buys him 4 more years...

If they release a vaccine on the public without exhaustive trials, and instead of protecting people against Covid-19, instead it makes them grow antlers, they don‘t want to handle the lawsuits.

Most people aren't going to distinguish one company's vaccine from another. If one company puts out a quack vaccine, all anyone is going to see is "dangerous vaccine." The pubic won't care who is the guilty party, and they'll blame all the manufacturers. They're all going to suffer for it, and they know it.

And the risk rises exponentially if shortcuts are taken. It would be foolish business to rush to market.
It's not like pharma didn't makes billions in profit before PINO usurped the job.

Purdue Pharma also promised doctors and patients that opioids were safe and not addictive. We have seen the results of those safety claims with the thousands of deaths each year from opioid overdose.

Vaccine developers have a couple of reasons to rush trials. One is being first to market and raking in hundreds of millions of dollars already promised by Trump. Will a President Biden follow through or insist on more extensive testing? Vaccine makers may be seeing their chance to get millions in government money more likely under Trump, so they need it on the market in case he loses.

The second reason may be less obvious. How many of these CEOs are Trump donors and want his reelection because of taxes and because he has promised to keep getting rid of regulations? Imagine drug companies with no liability for damages to consumers who use an unsafe product. Mitch McConnell has already tried to get rid of business liability for forcing workers to be in an unsafe environment because of Covid. We don’t know what Trump has promised these CEOs in return for this favor to him if they say a safe vaccine is available in late October. Trump is known for his quid pro quo shenanigans.

Perhaps I’m just being pessimistic, but vaccine trials need to take months, not weeks.

The fallout from the swine flu vaccine went on for years. That's the last time they allowed one to be rushed out ahead of full scale safety testing and data analysis.

that "One-Two Dynamic Duo" from doing just that.
However, since it would have to be by Executive Order and the DOJ putting their head deep underground (or WAY up Donnie's A$$ - oh, wait, the DOJ is already there!), a new administration and Attorney General would probably be able to stop that "promise of immunity" since there was no Congressional action regarding such immunity - and I don't think ANY congressional person would go near that with a 10-foot poll!

Is still in the early stages. It’s froma company called VBI Vaccines, a small company out of Boston area.

They are working on a 3-disease vaccine, and should enter Stage 1 trials in about a month. They won’t make it to stage 3 completion until next year, but early indication are that there model is much more effective at developing antibodies tha. The vaccines by others already announced.

We shall see AFTER the new President is sworn in.

any and all side effects, not being useful and up to and including the patients death and or disfigurement.

Most drugs take 7-10 years before getting on the market.

We will have this shoved down our throats [no pun intended] like it or not.
