We all knew in February, if we were watching any news at all, that a very real, very dangerous "viral pneumonia" was breaking loose. We knew.

We knew the first case in Washington, isolated. And we did nothing. No Federal Action. Leading* from behind. Only after Newsom ordered a shelter in place for the entire Bay Area did Orange McAnus make any noises, and those were about 15 going down to one in a display of sheer ignorance of how exponential functions work.

All the work we did in March and April to flatten the curve so as not to overwhelm the health care system to buy time for tracing and testing, was just another exercise in republicanism writ large (refinance and make the debt come due later, preferably when the other guy is in office).

Once the data showed Black and Latino patients died at greater rates, well, he began signaling his goons to protest the stay at home orders, but only in Democratic led states. He viewed a virus through a partisan lens as though single cell viruses care who hosts them.
