and awesome, and he was probably thrilled that the famous journalist Bob Woodward wanted to do another book about him (even though the last one wasn't very flattering). So he blabbed to Bob, assuming his pearls of wisdom would be transmitted to the world, all to his greater glory. I do believe he's that far removed from reality.

Apparently they were as surprised about these revelations as anyone else.

Now, that could easily be ass-covering by a bunch of minions, but to be honest, I tend to believe it. It seems perfectly in line with what we know about Trump -- that he would shoot his mouth off to Woodward in private and not tell his team what he said afterwards.

After listening to the tapes, it seemed to me that there was an almost boastful tone to Trump's remarks, as if he were talking to a trusted confidante, not a reporter. It came across as "You wouldn't believe the stuff that I know. Of course, I can't tell the American people, but gosh, I know a lot cuz I'm the president."

It really makes you wonder what kind of stuff he's said to people like Hannity in private. Or... Putin.
