"Don't Panic, But Take This Seriously"

I just fixed it for PINO.
The way one prevents a panic is not by saying nothing is wrong. It's by telling people that it's serious, but there are measures we can take to keep it under control.
So, he lied about the seriousness (using the words "virus" & "hoax" in the same sentence).
Now, he's lying about not wanting to cause a panic.
There were, OBVIOUSLY, better ways to ward off a panic than doing nothing or pretending it doesn't exist.
The response is a failure. The response to the information that they ignored the warnings is a failure.
Going on 200,000 people are dead!
So much winning!

The panic he wanted to prevent was in the stock market. nature-lover Sep 2020 #1

I think there was no plan!
Besides, announcing as I suggest would have prevented a market panic, because a proactive response would have limited economic fallout, if only because fewer deathly ill & dead people reduce economic impact. (It's not "only, but mass death causes panic)
So, it was still a failure.
Besides, the markets did plunge well over 33%, and required MASSIVE government spending to stabilize the markets.
So, it didn't work, anyway.
Failure on top of failure, with a side of failure, all topped with failure sauce.

Actually, there was a reaction; not a plan. The reaction was to protect himself and his inner circle without regard for the rest of society.
Announcing, as you suggest, would have been the best tactic. Failure is an apt description of this entire administration.

The hope for the best part didn't work out, and now the deny part is exposed, by Trump as a "lie."

His supporters are defending the "lie" part, by saying that all politicians lie.

We know it is all Obama's fault for leaving Trump with a vaccine that did not work......

All part of Trump Making America Great Again, if we get four more years we will be so great we just won't be able to stand it.

Beauty! Yes, it's Obama's fault that there was a nonexistent, ineffective vaccine for a disease nobody knew existed while he was in office.
It's so obvious!
Great line, CF!
