Why it's OK...no, NECESSARY to also hold Bob Woodward accountable

There's no one to blame for this shitshow other than Donnie Shit for Brains and his asspickle enablers.

Let me say that again; there's no one to blame for this shitshow other than Donnie Shit for Brains and his asspickle enablers

That does NOT remove the responsibility to inform, when you have information that is critical to life and death

This isn't just the Dipshit claiming that President Obama was born in Kenya in public, but privately admitting that he's full of shit. That's dirty fucking politics, but it's not life and death

This would be akin to knowing that planes were going to be flown into the World Trade Center, and just allowing people to go to work there that day.

The reason it's important is because it's not just a responsibility to journalism... it's a responsibility to humanity

I sit here and watch... EVERYDAY...as human decency, compassion, integrity, ethics, responsibility, accountability, empathy, self-sacrifice, care, honor, courage, love, truth and hope is being murdered right before my very eyes.

In other words, everything that makes us human is being snuffed out in front of us... EVERYDAY!!!

If we don't demand better than this, than what's the fucking point?

Either we are truly compassionate caring human beings, or we're not.

If we have no responsibility, refuse to hold others responsible, and see every act through a political lens, then we've surrendered our humanity.

Pointing out that Woodward had information that could have potentially saved tens of thousands of lives doesn't make him responsible for those lives, but it does send a message that it's not acceptable human behavior.

And that's the point. It's not his responsibility as a journalist... it's his responsibility as a human being.

other than to make Woodward millions richer. At least if Woodward had blown the whistle then, SOME people would have been saved. In pandemics, preventing one person's infections means saving a lot of other people, since the people they would have infected, don't pass on the infection to others, etc.

Instead, Woodward kept quiet, secured his pay day, while others paid with their lives and health.

They would be exactly where they were beforehand. Knowing the truth, but without the concrete proof needed.
I am by no means exonerating Woodward for his lack of humanity, but Shifting the blame to him is only adding fuel to the GOP fire. Consider that Donald Trump is already using this line to distance and trivialize his responsibilities in all of this.

Donald Trump quote:
“Bob Woodward had my quotes for many months. If he thought they were so bad or dangerous, why didn’t he immediately report them in an effort to save lives?" Trump tweeted. "Didn’t he have an obligation to do so? No, because he knew they were good and proper answers. Calm, no panic!”

I think it's ridiculous to equivocate the responsibilities of an author selling books to the president of the United States and the responsibility they both have, but that's exactly what people have done, giving Trump a path to distance and minimize his own involvement. I suppose for some people it's impossible to understand the bog they have been led into by the bog monster himself. It should bother people on the left to no end that Trump is using the very same argument they are to minimize his responsibility. If there are people who can't understand this, then I am just spinning in the wind.
