President Trump's daughter and adviser, Ivanka Trump, vowed on Thursday to take the coronavirus vaccine on "The View" after a challenge from co-host Joy Behar.
Behar said on Wednesday's show that she doubted the president's claims that a COVID-19 vaccine could be ready soon, adding that she would take the vaccine once Ivanka Trump did.
Ivanka Trump responded to Behar's comments in a tweet on Thursday, saying "Deal" while tagging "The View" co-host.
"I would come on your show to do so," she said. "I trust the FDA and so should all Americans. Vanquishing this virus should be our collective top priority."

Good going Ivanka since we don't have enough monkeys to experiment on.
America is facing a monkey shortage as demand skyrockets for COVID-19 research, experts say
The race for a coronavirus vaccine to help end the pandemic has consumed the scientific community and created an escalating demand for an essential resource: monkeys.
Before drug companies call on human volunteers, monkeys are used in preclinical trials to test a vaccines safety and effectiveness. But with more than 100 vaccines in development around the world, there arent enough monkeys to go around.
There is a shortage, said Dr. Skip Bohm, associate director and chief veterinary medical officer of the Tulane National Primate Research Center.
Like other aspects of society, the pandemic has underscored an already existing problem. Nonhuman primate research centers have been strained in recent years because of restrictions on imported monkeys from countries like China and India, and a lack of funding to support domestic breeding.

(2,626 posts)any more than they'd believe Trump took Hydroxychloriquine to keep Covid19 away.
It's also surprising that the campaign hasn't yet come out with photos of him to be worn like an amulet around the neck to keep Covid at bay. Sort of like a garland of garlic or a small vial of swamp water.

(1,997 posts)injection on national tv. In fact, anyone in the administration who gets the shot for publicity likely will not get the real thing. No smart government would inject their leader with a vaccine that is not absolutely proven safe, not just in testing trials but in 'real world' use for an appropriate amount of time. (Remember, the swine flu vaccine passed research trials, but the problems were discovered when given on a larger scale to the general public.)
