1. It's pretty much a given that we'll lose the whole year and then some.

This fucking sucks, but we got to be prepared to be in it for the long haul.

2. I'm afraid you're right. We'll have to start all over again with a proper lockdown for enough time.

What's been happening in Victoria, Au. but we are going into our fifth or sixth week of severe lockdown and curfew and the fucking idiots are starting to have 'freedom' rallies, anti-mask rallies - you name it.

Luckily, the cops are on top of it and are arresting, charging and issuing hefty fines.

I really don't know how the US is going to manage it, with all your RWNJs.

10. Someone's making a lot of money in this pandemic.

That's why it hasn't been handled correctly. We'll know to whom Trump is being transactional by looking at whose profits are skyrocketing right now, and how is that company's functioning is active during the spread of the virus AND the maintenance of the pandemic. Trump is doing a crafty thing. While he has in place a policy that keeps the virus very active, he also is downplaying its presence. He's assauging people's anxiety about behaving in a way that endangers their lives while he's passively making sure that the virus can spread unabated. He passively encourages people to get sick and die. And he's got to be doing it for more than one reason. It has to be his need to feel powerful by indirectly killing, and he's got to be making money at it. So he also has to be financially connected to organizations that are making a lot of money because of the presence of the pandemic.

since his income comes from hotels, casinos and golf courses. He needs the economy to get back to normal, and hundreds of thousands of dead Americans be damned.

"Bless your heart" can mean exactly what it sounds like, but often it doesn't. It is a complicated phrase that has many layers of import that can change on a whim, usually having absolutely nothing to do with hearts at all. As you point out, she may not have one, so that's a good thing.

Whenever you hear or see that phrase, everyone just use your imagination to divine the meaning; that's half the fun.

And attend to a Trump rally or 10, standing all snuggled in close with other unmasked, non-socially distanced fools who think COVID is done.

Personally I'm gonna play it SMART & SAFE and continue wearing a mask and socially distancing on the rare occasional I have to be out in public.
