(3,635 posts)I'm not a big fan of the Bernie wing, but the article in WaPo that came out the other day was very good, in terms of critiquing the weaknesses of the Biden campaign.
A great Dem once said 'it's the economy, stupid' and we can't allow Trump to beat us on this issue, which polls show to be Trump's one strong point.
We keep hearing that Trump lied about the virus, but we don't hear why. It's up to Biden/Harris to connect the dots. Trump lied to prop up the stock market while shoveling money (via the Fed and zero interest rates) to big corps - while forcing regular people into the pandemic to die for the 1 percent. Dems are the ones who passed the Cares Act and then the Heroes Act that is still being blocked by the GOP - while regular folks wait on food lines and have lost their healthcare.

(68,556 posts)job he has done...and Sanders wants Biden to take a walk on the left and I say absolutely not. Sanders can't help us win in states we need.

(67,782 posts)...its not even close to the OP subject line: "James Carville says Biden should do what Bernie says!"

(68,556 posts)nomination? Sanders should be quiet and so should Carville. Beating Trump is all that matters. Let's not give Trump ammo...Sanders wants Biden to sing the MFA bullshit and that would be a terrible idea.

(59,503 posts)Even then, though his war room was trumpeted as important to 1992, remember that people in the Clinton wing also say that Bill Clinton was the best natural politician of his generation - something far more likely to be true. Bill Clinton's win in 1992 was not a landslide - and it was against a president at about 30% approval!
Carville is likely over rated. He certainly was not a huge help to Hillary 2008 or 2016. He was likely negative in 2004 - always considering Kerry as anybody but Bush. a concept that never made sense in a general election, but which diminished our nominee every time he or others spoke that way. Not to mention, there were reports that he passed information given him by someone on the Kerry team on election night to his Republican wife. I suspect he preferred Kerry to lose - leaving 2008 for HRC. I don't remember him in 2000.
