(3,635 posts)and we as a society cannot accept it as an 'unofficial' form of justice, no matter how much we dislike the defendant.
Note that most acts of prison violence/rape/etc are not against bad people per se, but against weaker and marginalized people.

(34,066 posts)slap and tickle is a description of consensual behavior. Rape is not.
The implied suggestion that rape is based on appearance (attractive/effeminate). It is not.
And finally, the implied threat of extra-judicial punishment in the form of rape.
None of it should be acceptable here.

(3,554 posts)In prison - a male prison, having an appearance that is effeminate and not having the ability to defend yourself, guarantees you an opportunity to be raped.
And because some (Most) of our prisons are warehouses rather than places of rehabilitation there is always the threat of extra-judicial punishment in the form of rape.
While it should not be acceptable - there are reasons for it:
1. Rehabilitation and all it implies - is not the goal - plus providing some type of training for inmates, worthwhile skills cant be allowed to threaten the community working personnel.
2. Providing a safe environment in prison - requires some social isolation and increasing the staff to provide that security.
3. Sad truth, prisons, some prisons - allow some inmates to exercise power over other inmates.
4. Inmates, some inmates have a history of violence - and they exercise that violence over other inmates and in some cases, staff.
In my humble opinion.
P.S. I forgot - people like the Jared - they go to clubhouse type prisons, so not the same as the ones that we normal people go to.
