(8,964 posts)While out hiking I was intimidated by a gang of very mean squirrels sporting razor-sharp ankle spurs. Thanks a lot Antifa!

(3,650 posts)I used to see things like this "news" story and just go nuts. It wasn't good for my heart. Now I just read what you all on DU say and laugh and feel better. Thanks. I'm surrounded by black walnut trees filled with nuts and squirrels practicing their bombardment skills. But I'm not worried anymore. Now I know they're being trained by antifa. Thank heavens.

(3,650 posts)Ducking and dodging helps to keep me limber. Besides I want them to have really good aim when the right time comes. So I'm ok affording them target practice.

We meet all kinds of woodland critters. One thing I know for sure, the raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, foxes, rabbits, snakes, otters, beavers, muskrats, etc. will never stay still long enough for us to get them through their 1st ANTIFA training session. They're just not cut out to toe the line when it counts. They always go AWOL when we approach.
Edited to add:
My friend and I used to walk one of the trails and this happened during late winter with snow on the ground. We spied a critter ahead of us on the trail. It turned out to be what we thought was a white weasel/mink. It was so unusual we stopped to take photos of it until it started to come toward us! We freaked out and ran as it followed us down the trail. A couple of days later, someone had placed a cardboard sign on a park bench along the trail. The sign had a photo of a brown ferret stating, "Lost! Have you seen this ferret? Please call [phone #]." OMG! It was someone's pet ferret that had turned white from being out in the snow. No wonder it came after us. It thought we were going to rescue it. Poor thing.

(1,997 posts)And, since woodland animals don't talk, they can't turn us in when they are interrogated.
Next up, training the murder hornets to only attack MAGAts.

(7,809 posts)when we think they're stupid.
An idea that could work, though: get somebody in a red baseball cap to piss off the crows that live near the hiking trail.
There was a study done where a volunteer put on a halloween style mask and upset some crows who attacked in retaliation. The volunteer had no trouble in the area walking without the mask. Another volunteer put the mask on and got divebombed. Even 5 years after the experiment, somebody walking in that area wearing the mask got attacked by crows who remembered and by younger crows who learned from the older ones.
Forget the raccoons and goats! Let's teach the corvids (crows, ravens, etc.) to hate red caps! We can do it!
