With just over eight weeks until the election, a new poll shows Democrat Mark Kelly has opened up a 10-point lead over Arizona Sen. Martha McSally.
Translation (if youre a Republican): uh-oh.
Its not that McSally has lost support. A rock solid four in 10 voters support her.
Its that Arizonas appointed senator, having now campaigned for three years, has not yet made the sale with Arizonas moderate and independent voters the ones who will decide this race and perhaps, decide who controls the Senate as well.
And time is not her friend.
According to the latest poll from OH Predictive Insights, Kelly now leads McSally 52% to 42% among likely voters. Other recent polls have shown her 5 to 7 points behind Kelly.
But no polls in recent history, or hardly ever, have shown her leading this race.
McSally has been unable to gain traction and with only three weeks to go until early voting begins, we may be seeing the final days of the McSally campaign as we know it, OHPIs Mike Noble told me late Tuesday.
