Van Morrison rails against virus restrictions in new songs
Music legend Van Morrison said on Friday he has recorded three "protest songs" against the UK government's coronavirus lockdown measures, in which he reportedly accuses scientists of "making up crooked facts".

Here's lyrics to these songs:

Van Morrison’s anti-lockdown songs: ‘No more taking of our freedom, And our God given rights’
Musician’s anti-lockdown songs hit out at UK government, scientists ‘making up crooked facts’

Van Morrison has claimed that the UK government is using Covid-19 restrictions to “enslave” the population in three new anti-lockdown protest songs.

...The BBC reports that the song’s lyrics include the lines:

“No more lockdown / No more government overreach / No more fascist bullies / Disturbing our peace”.

No more, no shoes, no shirt, no service! Those draconian rules are a threat to freedom.

Why are our freedumbs restricted by laws about wearing clothing? We are born naked and have the perfect right to run around letting our skin breath in its natural state.

I am surprised that he can't discern the difference between a public health threat that requires responsible citizens to act in ways that are protective and beneficial to their fellow citizens and what Fascists are and do.

Freedom is a reciprocal responsibility and if my actions and lack of concern become a health threat to others than that is called being a self-centered tyrant, not an advocate of freedom. How am I free to put others in jeopardy when the nature of the threat is absolutely clear? My freedom does not allow for endangering the health and lives of others in a society, ever, since that is a threat to their right and freedom to be healthy and thrive.

I guess Van is self-absorbed. He sure makes a lousy example in that case.

Van Morrison has claimed that the UK government is using Covid-19 restrictions to “enslave” the population in three new anti-lockdown protest songs.

The Northern Ireland musician accused the government of “taking our freedom” and claims that scientists are “making up crooked facts” as a mean of controlling the public.

He makes these claims in three new songs recorded “recently” in Belfast and England, one of which bears the title, No More Lockdown.

"grumpy" if not angry at the music industry. He hates it.

He loves to record and perform. I think he's just old and warped and pissed from not being able to tour.

It's wrong, of course. I hate to see this. He's an all time favorite.

The “government overreach” is about having enough consideration to wear a fucking mask, social distance your ass, and thus NOT spread a deadly virus to OTHERS (see: “public health”).

Far too many humans apparently have a death wish. Thus, fuck you, Van.
