got notice of an increase in my United Health Care Medicare RX plan from $60 to $80 a month. I assume other seniors go this happy news too.

(4,673 posts)year because of this, Plans are scrapped, new ones come on-line from the same group of insurers. This constant monitoring so not to get screwed (if we can help it) is exhausting.

(15,536 posts)I don't take any meds. I've been on Medicare for seven years. I knew that I could be penalized if I didn't carry at least a basic Rx plan as soon as I was eligible for Medicare. So I've been paying for a plan (yes, UHC's plan) for all these years and never used it.

(4,673 posts)is a 20-something dollar monthly plan in my area, not bad considering if one suddenly has a need it's there. If we could get it without penalty only when we needed it, costs would be exhorbitant. That was the argument with the ACA, folks not wanting to have to purchase it.
