"If I buy Goya products, will I be tear-gassed? Will secret police arrest me?"
Some of our readers are concerned by recent claims from a GOP spokesman in Pennsylvania that terrorists use Goya products. "They go out and buy Goya because they throw it," the spokesman from Moon said.
Rumors have resulted, because the spokesman and his daughter both earlier encouraged Americans to buy Goya products.
"First, they encouraged us to buy Goya. Now, if you have a can, they say you're a rioter. It's obviously a set-up," one voter told us. "I think they're planning mass arrests of everybody who has Goya, and just to be safe, I'm not buying Goya."
Another voter disagreed. "Hell, it won't matter. Once they start lobbing tear-gas or rubber bullets or 50 caliber at you, they'll say anything. They'll say they mistook the button on your shirt for a can of Goya, or they'll say they thought your button was an RPG. We need to rid ourselves of these nutjobs."
Others are taking a more nuanced approach. "It's just an attempt to extort Goya," another reader told us. "He expected a big fat check after he and Ivanka said nice things about the company. He didn't get what he wanted, so it's payback time. There's no need to blow this all out of proportion."
