Think about it.
Most states dont have an automatic recount provision in their electoral code, and even then automatic recounts only kick in under the thinnest of margins.
If *45 is going to contest elections by demanding recounts - his campaign is going to have to pay for it.
The same campaign that has blown through almost a billion dollars.
States dont do recounts on credit - they need to get money up front. Not *45's style.
I wonder how loud the squealing will be.

(9,263 posts)all sorts of hurdles to end run democracy. Trump/gop at this point don;t want any votes counted and the gloves MUST come off against them by placing every GOP candidate in the spotlight on where they stand with voting and democracy.
All our candidates must go on the offense against their GOP counterparts for next 5+ weeks.

(836 posts)If candidate Smith(D) has a 7% margin over candidate Doe (R), Doe is not going to get an automatic recount, and Doe is going to look stupid standing there just claiming "Mail fraud! They cheated! George Soros! Argle Bargle! I won! "
Not that fear of looking stupid is going to stop them from trying to steal an election.

(9,263 posts)doubt and chaos. This is straight out of the Kremlin playbook. The actual mechanism to "steal" an election is near impossible and would only happen with a complete breakdown of our system of laws which effectively ends democracy.
I am staying on the side of law that even conservative judges are unwilling to cross to end democracy. But the bullshit will contine for next 5+ weeks.
Need to tune it out, volunteer to be a poll worker and GOTV to smash GOP and trump.

(4,846 posts)If he calls for a recount, he will never pays the bill and leaves the states hanging forever. I mean, he still hasn't paid a lot of his rally bills.
